Az autonómia és a kultúra alapvetően problematikus viszonyának elemzései az emberi civilizáció megjelenésének legelső fázisa óta ontológiai kérdések megválaszolását igénylik. Kant ugyan rámutatott arra, hogy az emberek metafizikailag szabadok, de a szabad tettek megválasztásának joga nem írja felül a cselekedetekért való felelősségvállalást. Az állam és az autonómia közötti konfliktus során az egyén abban a pillanatban alul marad, amint elfogadja az alávetettséget. Eközben ontológiai - és nem erkölcsi - beágyazódása okán felelősségét el kellene ismernie, autonómiáját megteremtenie minden korban és időpontban, amikor ez csak lehetséges. A civilizált ember az önmaga által teremtett ontológiai paradoxon megoldatlansága miatt nem csupán kultúráját, művészi kreativitását veszítheti el, hanem saját identitását is. A művészet ugyanakkor az autonómiateremtés egyik színtere. A Helikon mostani száma a művészi autonómia újraalkotásának egy radikálisan provokatív kísérletét mutatja be. Sőrés Zsolt az ontológiai anarchizmus egyik fő teoretikusának, Peter Lamborn Wilsonnak a poétikájáról és a hazai alternatív kulturális-művészeti élettel kialakult kapcsolatáról írt tanulmányt. Peter Lamborn Wilson, a New York-i Autonomedia szerkesztője, Hakim Bey néven írt műveiben az autonóm területek kialakításának alternatíváival, a technológiai-társadalmi változások természetével, a média és a művészet kritikájával foglalkozik. A második, _Nomadozófia_ című témakörben Peter Lamborn Wilsonnak az iszlám történelem és kultúra emblematikus sajátosságait tárgyaló valamint az álom nyelvéről szóló metalingvisztikai műveiből válogattunk. Az „Utópia blues” részben René Balliger az ellenállás zenéjének szónikus térfoglalásáról, Hakim Bey a zene utópikus poétikájának és spiritualitásának megteremtéséről, Antal István Juszuf pedig a radikális művészet és az anarchia esztétikai és ontológiai kapcsolatáról értekezik. A negyedik, „Mai magyar autonómia-törekvések” című témakörben Kotun Viktor a budapesti házfoglalók tevékenységét, a squat-ideológia esélyeit foglalja össze. Galambos Attila tanulmánya a globalizáció által teremtett új nevelési helyzeteket veszi számba. Szemle rovatunkban az ontológiai anarchizmus művelődéstörténeti hagyományából a klasszikus anarchista iró, John Henry Mackay eredetileg 1891-ben megjelent _Az anarchisták_című regényének utolsó fejezetét közöljük. (H)ART is a young and fast-growing Belgian print magazine for contemporary art. It wants to keep up with the contemporary expressive art scene in an alert and accessible way: (H)ART appears every three weeks. Now in its third year, (H)ART– after having conquered its place in Belgium – wants to start working more internationally. That's why we are planning a (H)ART International section and we are looking for good international writers and/or critics, who can use their expertise to report about the contemporary expressive art in their region or country.

"1996 tavaszán 3 román fiatalt a tengerbe dobtak a tajvani Maersk Dubai fedélzetéről, mivel illegálisan, potyautasként próbáltak az Atlanti-óceánon át Kanadába jutni. A TV-ben hallottam a három román fiatal haláláról szóló híreket. 10 évig tartott, mire megértettem, hogy tragédiájuk a 90-es évek Romániájának szimbóluma, egy tönkretett országé, amelyik igyekezett a kommunista diktatórát maga mögött hagyni."

Stefan Constantinescu: El Pasaje (Az utazás) (62'), 2005, Stockholm
Az El Pasaje három chilei története, akiket arra kényszerítettek, hogy elhagyják Chilét az 1973-as Pinochet puccs után. Mindhárman a Nicolae Ceausescu vezette kommunista Romániába kerültek, amely megfelelt politikai eszményeiknek, és évekig éltek a diktatúrában. Idővel ketten elhagyták Romániát, és Svédországban telepedtek le. Az El Pasaje egy film menekültekről, idegenekről, a múltról, előítéletekről és a magányról.

„What is this project about? Ondrej: The dog carpets are essentially about society's hypocrisy. It questions the special status that dogs and cats have in our, western society. Although we can see that in China, despite the local culture and cuisine, the pet culture is on its rise as well. The Bolivian experience was about hypocrisy as well, but it involved on a larger and direct scale mechanisms and structures within the society. Kristofer: It's about the tradition of producing carpets with wild animals as a hunting fetish. But in this case we were using an inappropriate animal, a pet - and like this we wanted to question the values behind this tradition. Ondrej was speaking to me about this idea already before the Bolivia show, but when I got the opportunity to participate in that show I thought it would be interesting to realize the dog carpets there with Ondrej, mainly for three reasons: more adventure, lower production costs and the problem of street dogs in South America (in contrast to the beloved inhouse pet in North America and in most European countries).” full documentation

The exhibition and the catalogue concentrate on his Plans from 1975 - 1983; these are fascinating collage sheets with texts and drawings relating to the artist's performances and installations employing video. The Plans will be exhibited and published in their entirety for the first time, whether they were realised or remained concepts. One highlight in this context is the 22-metre-long collage Freeing myself from my thoughts, which combines everyday and personal observations made by the 22-year-old artist with pieces torn from newspapers, and drawings. During a performance in 1976, Marcel Odenbach tore up this strip after he had wrapped himself in it. The collage will be reassembled for the first time for our exhibition, and the full work is reproduced in the catalogue.
At the centre of this exhibition, we are showing one of Odenbach's main works, "Oh, how good that no-one knows" dating from 1999. In this large-format, four-part projection, historical recordings (found footage) from German history are combined with the artist's own new images and then interwoven with his own and cited film images showing past and contemporary Africa. Personal responsibility, emotional proximity and the presence of history are united on four large-format picture surfaces within a single room, and the viewer stands at their centre. Three more prize-winning video tapes illustrate the links between Odenbach's paper Plans and the realised works and offer a vivid insight into the artist's oeuvre. Our survey is completed by four new large-format works on paper.

With his unpretentious, comic-like, political, humoristic, and ironic drawings on walls and windows, Dan Perjovschi (born in 1961 in Sibiu/Romania, lives in Bucharest) has definitely made a name for himself in the past few years. Perjovschi, who takes a keen interest in world affairs, is known in Romania also for his politically inspired performances as well as for his journalistic work for Magazine 22, a publication that came into being following the fall of the Ceausescu regime in 1987.
With his artistically unique and direct language that is reminiscent of children"s drawings and Art Brut, he comments on international and local events, or on that world in which his works manifest themselves-the art scene. Equipped with a permanent marker or chalk, without having done any preliminary drawings, just with a rough idea about the content of his commentary, the artist arrives at the scene of his creative act. Dan Perjovschi takes an approach that is very specific to the venue and space in question.
For the exhibition "Fair enough" staged at Kunsthaus Baselland, he has devoted his attention to the rows of windows that are a salient feature of the building. Working with daily newspapers, magazines, and an Internet connection to news agencies, the artist produced new drawings on location, and reuse his existing repertoire of drawings with a view to further developing, reinterpreting, or logically complementing adjacent drawings.
Perjovschi"s drawings express vitriolic comments and provide lucid and mordant analyses. They put controversial things in a nutshell, they are polemic and critical at the same time. Most strikingly, they are straightforward, in-your-face, and direct, and they brook no indifference.
